Installing The Salesforce Gallery App In Lightning

If you want to install SFDC Classic, follow the instructions in this article.

To begin, install the Salesforce.com (SFDC) App:

Select the appropriate install user option for your Salesforce Instance:

  • Install for Admins Only
  • Install for All Users (Recommended)
  • Install for Specific Profiles

Note: The user installing the app must be a Kapost user who is permissioned within Salesforce to install new applications or alteast have a “Gallery Only” consumer license.

Salesforce Gallery App Permissions

  1. From the Salesforce homepage, select Setup from the user drop-down menu.
  2. From the left-hand navigation, within the Administration Setup section, select Manage Apps.
  3. Select Connected Apps.
  4. Within the Connected Apps window, click the Edit option to the left of Kapost.
  5. Set the Permitted Users option to: Admin approved users and pre-authorized.

Note: If Permitted Users is set to anything other than the full option: "Permitted Users", the SFDC Gallery App will not work.

  1. Click the Save button.
  2. Go back to Connected Apps and now select Kapost.
  3. Scroll down to the Profiles section and select Manage Profiles.
  4. Select all profiles that should have access to the app.
  5. Click the Save button.
  6. From the left-hand navigation, within the Administration Setup section, search “Profile” and select Profiles under Manage Users.
  7. Choose Edit for Profile(s) that will ultimately access the Salesforce Gallery App.
  8. Scroll down to Administrative Permissions and ensure API Enabled is checked.
  9. Click the Save button.
  10. Navigate to VisualForce Page Settings by searching for "visualforce".

For each Kapost VisualForce page, click Security and enable the profiles that should have access to the page, then click Save.

Collection Group Associated with Salesforce Gallery App

  1. Obtain the URL for the Kapost Gallery Collection Group: Log into Kapost. Go to the Gallery, click Manage Content to get to the Settings page. Scroll down to the Collection Group on the left side and select it. Click the share button in the top right corner and click copy for the URL.
  2. Back in Salesforce, in the top navigation menu select the + menu option to display more tabs.
  3. Select Kapost Setup from the tab listing.
  4. Paste the URL for the Kapost Gallery Collection Group (from step 1) and click Save.

Install on Opportunity Records

  1. Navigate to an opportunity and select the gear icon > Edit page.
  2. Click on the spot where the tab should be added on the main content pane, this will bring up the Page > Tabs section on the right hand side of the page.
  3. On the Page > Tabs section, select Add Tab.
  4. Click on the new tab and select Custom.
  5. Add “Kapost Gallery” (or whatever you’d like the tab to be called).
  6. Select the tab in the main content pane.
  7. Drag a “Visualforce” component from the standard component list on the left hand side of the page.
  8. This will open the Page > Visualforce section on the right hand side of the page.
  9. Type “Kapost Gallery” in the Label dialog (or the tab name you entered).
  10. Select “Kapost Gallery Opportunity” in the “Visualforce Page Name” dropdown.
  11. Update Height in pixels (1,000 is recommended, which brings it down to 1 scrollbar).
  12. Click Save.
  13. Click Activation and set the appropriate page assignment for your org (Org Default recommended).

Install on Lead Records

  1. Navigate to a Lead and select the gear icon > Edit page.
  2. Click on the main content pane, this will bring up the Page > Tabs section on the right hand side of the page.
  3. On the Page > Tabs section, select Add Tab.
  4. Click on the new tab and select Custom.
  5. Add “Kapost Gallery” (or whatever you’d like the tab to be called).
  6. Select the tab in the main content pane.
  7. Drag a “Visualforce” component from the standard component list on the left hand side of the page.
  8. This will open the Page > Visualforce section on the right hand side of the page.
  9. Type “Kapost Gallery” in the Label dialog (or the tab name you entered).
  10. Select “Kapost Gallery Lead” in the Visualforce Page Name dropdown.
  11. Update Height in pixels (1,000 is recommended, which brings it down to 1 scrollbar).
  12. Click Save.
  13. Click Activation and set the appropriate page assignment for your org (Org Default recommended).

Install on Contact Records

  1. Navigate to a Contact and select the gear icon > Edit page.
  2. Click on the main content pane, this will bring up the Page > Tabs section on the right hand side of the page.
  3. On the Page > Tabs section, select Add Tab.
  4. Click on the new tab and select “Custom”.
  5. Add “Kapost Gallery” (or whatever you’d like the tab to be called).
  6. Select the tab in the main content pane.
  7. Drag a “Visualforce” component from the standard component list on the left hand side of the page.
  8. This will open the Page > Visualforce section on the right hand side of the page.
  9. Type “Kapost Gallery” in the Label dialog (or the tab name you entered).
  10. Select “Kapost Gallery Contact” in the Visualforce Page Name dropdown.
  11. Update Height in pixels (1,000 is recommended, which brings it down to 1 scrollbar).
  12. Click Save.
  13. Click Activation and set the appropriate page assignment for your org (Org Default recommended).

Salesforce Admins, you may want to rearrange the tab order for your team to place the Kapost Gallery on the main bar. You may also want to give your team specific instructions on how they can personally make these adjustments.
